When the vehicle being tracked is stationary near tall buildings, the received signal is often a result of reflections and refraction due to these buildings thus it adds to the lag and thus gives inaccurate positioning information. This can be adjusted (if not compensated completely) by adjusting the DOP values of the receiver. Another trick would be to average the values of the position received when the vehicle is stationary.
Less satellites in view

The more the number of satellites in view, the more equations are formed and more accurate is the position. If the satellites in view are less, the position of the antenna is adjusted to get maximum exposure. Sometimes it is tilted towards the sky by up to 15 degree.
